There is an abundance of information available to you on the internet, in books, and from your friends and family, on what you should and shouldn’t be doing during your pregnancy. It can be overwhelming, and at times, confusing.
We have created a class, run by midwife Penny to assist you with what we believe to be the essentials to start you on your pregnancy journey feeling informed and confident. We cover the latest information from NSW Health in relation to pregnancy care in Australia.
Penny will guide and educate you on optimising your health and wellbeing during pregnancy, providing a guide to the many changes in pregnancy, both physically and emotionally. Topics will include:
- The physical changes of pregnancy
- Common discomforts
- Eating for health in pregnancy
- Vitamins and minerals
- Food safety and other precautions
- Weight management
- Exercise guidelines
- A guide to tests and appointments
- Vaccinations
- The physical changes of pregnancy
- Awareness of, and adaption to, the hormonal changes during pregnancy. Particular focus on the hormone Relaxin and how it impacts your body throughout pregnancy.
- Pelvic floor education and exercises
- frequently asked pregnancy questions will be discussed, including common do’s and don’ts.
- Information on further antenatal education
