Pregnant women are at particularly high-risk of becoming severely ill with influenza.
Influenza and Pregnancy
Vaccination against influenza during pregnancy is both important, and safe. Every year there are hundreds of deaths in Australia due to the flu and associated complications.
We understand that a visit to your GP is not always on the top of your to-do list, given you are making regular visits to our rooms during your pregnancy.
Therefore, the Afluria Quad Influenza vaccine is available at our rooms for you to have at one of your regular antenatal consultations.
As the vaccine is not available to specialists for free, there is a fee of $50 for the vaccination.
Alternatively, you can have the vaccine administered at your local GP.
If you would like more information about the influenza vaccine, please contact our office on 02 9251 8550, or ask Dr Morris at your next scheduled visit.
