RECIPE

No Bake Lactation Bites

Posted on 21/03/2021

Lactation bites are an excellent source of essential nutrients for breastfeeding. These tasty bites are a great “on-the-go” snack and the “no bake” recipe is very easy and quick to make. Containing fibre, protein, iron, magnesium, potassium and B vitamins, these bites make for a healthy energy boosting treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of rolled flaxseeds
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of shredded coconut
  • 1 tablespoon of brewers yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of honey

Method

Start by mixing all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, until well combined. Then, slowly stir in the wet ingredients until you have a smooth mixture. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to set the mixture.

Once your mixture has set, roll into bite-sized balls and keep refrigerated until ready to eat.

The best part about lactation bites is that you can customise them to suit your taste. Other great additions to this recipe include chopped nuts, sultanas and other dried fruit, or even swap the milk chocolate for white or dark chocolate chips.
